The Second Mountain - By - David Brooks Random House is proud to invite you to a Big Ideas Night on Tuesday, April 16 with David Brooks, acclaimed columnist and the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Social Animal and The Road to Character. His new book THE SECOND MOUNTAIN is a deeply personal and moving exploration of what it means to lead a meaningful life and a thought-provoking commentary on the rampant individualism that has become the defining ethos of our culture. Brooks writes, “Having failed at a commitment, I spent that year and the ensuing five years thinking about and reading about how to do commitments well, how to give your life meaning after worldly success has failed to fulfill. This book is a product of this search for commitments, this quest for a joyful life….” Learn what can happen when we put commitment-making at the center of our lives.
