Elsa Richardson-Bach
Elsa Richardson-Bach
Elsa Richardson-Bach (they/she) is an editorial assistant to Hilary Teeman and Julian Pavia at Ballantine. They love unique genre-bending stories as much as those with well-loved, timeless tropes. In particular, they look for science fiction that explores what it means to be human, horror that uses speculative elements to highlight real world injustices, fantasy from high to low (as long as the characters are deliciously complex), and romances that delve into the authentic mess of people’s emotions. Prior to joining Ballantine, they graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in English and creative writing, where they worked on a speculative fiction magazine and as a nonfiction editorial intern for The Iowa Review.
