Helen Thomaides is an Editor for Hogarth and Modern Library. For the Hogarth list, she acquires literary fiction, narrative nonfiction, and works in translation, with a particular interest in speculative/genre crossover elements and vivid settings. Her Hogarth authors include Claire Adam, Emma Copley Eisenberg, Liam Higginson, and Abdelrahman ElGendy. For Modern Library, the classics imprint of Random House, she has commissioned new introductions from authors including Sloane Crosley and Qian Julie Wang, and acquires modern classics in fiction and nonfiction, as well as new translations of classic work (both ancient and modern). Norton & Company, where she acquired and edited books including Barnes & Noble Discover Pick Wild and Distant Seas by Tara Karr Roberts, Indie Next Pick The Latinist by Mark Prins, New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice Raiders, Rulers, and Traders by David Chaffetz, and The Story of Astrophysics in Five Revolutions by Ersilia Vaudo, trans.
