Helen Thomaides is an Editor for Hogarth and Modern Library. For the Hogarth list, she acquires literary fiction, narrative nonfiction, and works in translation, with a particular interest in speculative/genre crossover elements and vivid settings, and she adds to the Modern Library’s distinguished list of classics with an eye toward expanding the canon. Prior to joining the Random House group, Helen spent several years at W. W. Norton & Company, where she acquired and edited books including Barnes & Noble Discover Pick Wild and Distant Seas by Tara Karr Roberts, Indie Next Pick The Latinist by Mark Prins, Raiders, Rulers, and Traders by David Chaffetz, How to Kill an Asteroid by Robin George Andrews, and The Abandoners by Begoña Gómez Urzaiz, translated by Lizzie Davis. Helen has worked with authors including Richard Powers, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Margaret Burnham, David Rohde, Saidiya Hartman, Helen Czerski, Ronan Farrow, and Frans de Waal.
