Ivanka Perez

Ivanka Perez (she/her) is an Editorial Assistant to Natalie Hallak and Mary Reynics at Ballantine, acquiring both fiction and nonfiction. In fiction, she has a passion for high-concept commercial hooks paired with upmarket writing, and has a soft spot for magical realism. She’s looking for romance that toes the line with women’s fiction, fantasy novels featuring found family, mystery/thrillers with a protagonist to root for, and book club fiction about finding community in an unexpected place. In nonfiction, she is interested in books about time management, productivity, habits, and how to manage the role of technology in our lives; as a philosophy major, she’d love to acquire pop philosophy or self help-meets-philosophy books for a general audience. Before joining Ballantine in 2023, Ivanka has had roles in journalism (magazine, news radio, and newspapers) and worked as a publicity assistant at Workman Publishing.
