Dean Pitchford
Dean Pitchford is the author of the highly acclaimed Captain Nobody, The Big One-Oh, and Nickel Bay Nick. He began his career as an actor on and off Broadway (Godspell, Pippin) before turning to songwriting (“Fame,” “All the Man That I Need”), screenwriting (Footloose, Sing), and directing (HBO’s “Blood Brothers”). He has been nominated for four Oscars (winning Best Song for “Fame”), two Tonys, and seven Grammy Awards. His songs—many of them top-ten hits—have sold over 70 million records.
