DR. GARY WEITZMAN is a veterinarian and president of the San Diego Humane Society, former CEO of the Washington Animal Rescue League, and former host of public radio's Animal House. His other books include National Geographic Kids How to Speak Dog: A Guide to Decoding Dog Language, National Geographic Kids How to Speak Cat: A Guide to Decoding Cat Language, National Geographic Kids Dog Breed Guide, and National Geographic Kids Cat Breed Guide.

TRACEY WEST has written more than 300 books for children. Her 15-year-old cat, Katie, has been by her side as she wrote most of them.
